Rachel Becker is a Boston-based writer whose poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in journals, including North American Review, Post Road, Rust & Moth, Crab Orchard Review, Barely South Review, The Shore, The Tusculum Review, Mom EggReview, and RHINO. A correspondent for the Boston Globe’s Living Arts section, she is also an assistant poetry editor for Porcupine Literary: A journal by and for teachers. A finalist for the 2025 Dryden-Vreeland Poetry Award and the 2025 Jack McCarthy Prize, she has received support from the Martha’s Vineyard Institute for Creative Writing, and the City of Boston Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture, in partnership with the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown.

Rachel has over two decades of teaching and facilitation experience at Newton South High School, where she teaches English and Creative Writing. She is a graduate of Lesley University’s MFA in Creative Writing program and holds an M.Phil from the University of Oxford, as well as a B.A. from Vassar College. She lives with her husband, two kids, and a small black cat.
