Rachel Becker
Poet, writer, editor, educator
Rachel Becker is a Boston-based writer whose poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in journals, including North American Review, Post Road, Rust & Moth, Crab Orchard Review, Barely South Review, The Shore, The Tusculum Review, Mom Egg Review, and RHINO. A correspondent for the Boston Globe’s Living Arts section, she is also an assistant poetry editor for Porcupine Literary: A journal by and for teachers. Rachel is a recipient of a Poets & Authors Fellowship at the Martha’s Vineyard Institute for Creative Writing, and a 2025 Jack McCarthy Prize Finalist from Write Bloody Publishing.
Rachel has over two decades of teaching and facilitation experience at Newton South High School, where she teaches English and Creative Writing. She is a graduate of Lesley University’s MFA in Creative Writing program and holds an M.Phil from the University of Oxford, as well as a B.A. from Vassar College. She lives with her husband, two kids, and a small black cat.
